Keeping Teams Ahead Through Continuous Growth

Why its Marks is dependent on Continuous Learning more than Experience

One of the things that every company invests in is the people and hopes that they develop along with the company. Skills can be learnt, tools can be learned and processes can change. Long-term success isn’t going to be determined by the knowledge one already has, but by their desire to acquire new knowledge.

Learning is NOT limited to doing training sessions or reading manuals. It’s the habit of being open-minded, receptive, flexible and self-improving on a daily basis.

The Difference Between Learning and Knowing

Many professionals think that they are done learning after they begin to gain experience. But industries change, customer needs change and technology continually alters ways in which we work.

People who are still learning remain relevant. People who discontinue their educational progression will not be able to keep up with change.

Experience is good, learning makes it good.

What more can we say, when learning stops, growth slows

All organisations rely on teamwork. If people refuse feedback or cease to learn it impacts them is not only impacting the one person but everyone around them.

Communicating is less effective. Innovation slows down. Small errors are persistent since no one knows what they would like to gain from modification or alternative methods.

Gradually, the whole organization takes a hit.

A person’s growth does not cease based upon their errors. It halts where people think that nothing has to be discovered from those mistakes.

Even worse, however, blame is never a solution

If you’re working in any job, you’ve probably heard phrases such as, “No one did the training properly for me,” or “The training they gave me wasn’t the best.

Training and leadership is important but so is learning.

A company can give resources, guidance, mentors and opportunities, but no organisation can learn on their behalf.

The most successful professionals in life ask questions, take advice, do something a lot of times, and take responsibility for their own growth.

The Role of a Company

A great company develops a culture of learning.

It invests in:

  • Preparation and development of skills.
  • Constructive feedback.
  • Mentorship and guidance.
  • Regular opportunities for growth through experience.
  • A culture that values the contribution of questions.

These things enable people to become better men, better women, but they can only do so if people are ready to embrace the learning process.

Learning Is a Partnership

  • Growth is an all-round process.
  • Company sets direction.
  • Leaders provide guidance.
  • Teams provide support.
  • The readiness to learn comes from individuals!

Put all four in place, and folks will grow, businesses will grow, and success will begin to be sustainable.

Final Thought

That’s not the strength of the best people, they don’t know all the things.

They are the people, who have no life nor stop learning.

As every lesson learnt is an experience earned for the tomorrow. This is because every organization that creates a culture of continuous learning also creates a strong, smart and change ready future.
